12 BEBO Arch Culverts in Floodplain

The Macroom Bypass Scheme in Cork County, Ireland proposed a new alignment for the N22 National Road to divert national traffic away from the town center.

At the southern end, the road crosses a floodplain of the River Lee, necessitating the construction of culvert structures to manage water levels during flooding events. The arrangement of 12 BEBO arches, each with a 6-meter internal span, at specific locations along the road provides sufficient hydraulic capacity for water flow.

This is another excellent project showcasing the versatility of our arches.
