Installation of main arch elements
Navigation Inn Overbridge will carry Station Road over the A465 to the southeast of Gilwern (Wales). The bridge will provide access south of the new A465 to Station Road from Gilwern to the north. It replaces the existing staggered junction where vehicles from Gilwern have to cross the A465 to reach Station Road.
The structure is a BEBO E30mT precast concrete arch on reinforced concrete bored pile foundations. The structure will have ‘bevelled’ ends to match the embankment earthworks.
The installation of the bevelled end arch elements is scheduled to happen in the next couple of weeks.
